A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Far off in space and time, serious trouble is brewing.  You and your partner are on the run from your planet's government.  Fascism has been slowly intensifying and open genocide is welcome by well-meaning citizens.  Armed with nothing but love and some serious piloting skills, you take off in your cute, but impractical, space cruiser for safer space.  The trek will be long and hard and one shot from the government's overkill weaponry will put you out of commission permanently.

Can you escape?  Is it even possible?  Only one way to find out.

UPDATE: The people have been heard. Danmaku Eternal has seen a major overhaul since submission to the Fresh Game Jam in the form of Danmaku Eternal (Standard). With scaling difficulty, three difficulty settings, and continuing, it is much more accessible to gamers of various skill levels. The original version is still available as Danmaku Eternal for posterity, but downloading Danmaku Eternal (Standard) is highly suggested as it is just a better and more complete game.

Danmaku Eternal is a procedurally generated shoot-em-up designed to be accessible to the colorblind.  It is highly recommended to play with a controller with an analog joystick.

It was created entirely by Maya Zimmerman using GameMaker Studio 2, Noteworthy Composer, and Sonar.

Feel free to use anything in the project for your own work, as long as you give a shout out to us (a link to the itch page would be especially appreciated).

I rated it two stars. The game in itself is amazing. But it is MUCH too hard. I would rate it four stars if it was much easier
